Our Valle Vidal Room is named after the pristine wilderness area near Cimarron. In 1982, the Penzoil Company donated 100,000 acres of Vermejo Park to the People of the United States via the Forest Service. It was the largest and most valuable donation of private land to the Forest Service. The area became known as the Valle Vidal unit, named after what the Indians and Spanish referred to as "The Valley of Life." Considered one of America's most beautiful places and a national treasure, the Valle Vidal is a prized wildlife resource (the Valle's elk herd), and is famous for its outstanding scenic value and recuperation opportunities.
The area is currently managed by the Carson National Forest, as a Multiple Use Area, as required by the original intent of the gift, in order to serve the sportsmen, recreation enthusiasts, cattle ranchers, wildlife viewers, and Boy Scouts that all enjoy the Valle Vidal's unique blend of wild land resources.
The Valle Vidal Room's bath features a shower with Mexican Talavera tile. It is located between the two bedrooms. The front room in the Valle Vidal has a single day bed.
